EXPLANATION

What is a CBCT X-Ray?

CBCT stands for cone beam computed tomography. This 3-D scan captures detailed images of your teeth, jaw, neck, ears, nose and throat from a variety of angles in less than a minute.

Like the panoramic X-ray, it is an extraoral X-ray and the imagining machine will rotate entirely around your head.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

A CBCT scan provides very detailed images used for implant planning and other diagnostic purposes.

The dentist or radiologist will analyze the images taken and will either discuss the results with you directly or communicate to the referring dentist.

An intraoral scanner is a handheld device that is used to directly create a digital impression of the mouth. Digital scanning is much faster, more precise and accurate than traditional alginate impressions. It also reduces patient discomfort as they don’t have to endure the unpleasant trays and material.
